Hi! I’m Jackie.
I have a Master of Science in Book Publishing from Portland State University and have been helping authors with their books at all stages for three years. The books I’ve worked on have won prestigious awards and earned glowing blurbs and reviews. As a hardworking, curious lover of language, I seek to find the intersection between the author’s, publisher’s, and audience’s needs.
I’m a “Jackie-of-all-trades,” if you will.
While at Portland State University, I was a project manager for Ooligan Press as well as a communications assistant for the Transportation Research and Education Center. Today, I am an independent editor and marketer. As a result, I have extensive experience in the following areas:
- Copyediting
- Developmental editing
- Proofreading
- Graphic design
- Blogging
- Social media management
- Website design
- Marketing
- Publicity
- Event planning

So what work am I looking for?
My passions and strengths lie in copyediting and digital marketing.
If I am copyediting your manuscript, I am editing it for the four Cs: clarity, coherency, consistency, and correctness. That is, along with correcting spelling and grammar, I will be making sure your manuscript reads well, makes sense, doesn’t contradict itself, and is factually correct.
If I am digitally marketing your book, I am helping you get the word out on social media (specifically, Instagram and TikTok). I am also seeking digital reviewers for your book on Bookstagram and BookTok. You don’t need your own social media for me to help you with this!
